Smoking and Vaping Policy

The purpose of this Smoking and Vaping Policy is to promote a healthy and safe workplace environment, protect the health of employees, visitors and the public, and comply with applicable laws and workplace rules relating to smoking and vaping.

General Rule

Gelateria Danieli Ltd (the Company) operates a smoke-free indoor workplace.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all enclosed or substantially enclosed areas of the Company’s premises, including the shop, toilets, hallways, kitchens and common areas.

The Company also prohibits vaping and the use of electronic cigarettes or similar devices in all indoor areas of the premises.

Smoking is prohibited in company vehicles where required by law and, as a matter of Company policy, vaping is also not permitted in company-owned, company-leased or other enclosed work vehicles.

Smoking and vaping are permitted only in any designated outdoor smoking or vaping area identified by the Company.

Designated Smoking and Vaping Areas

The Company may designate specific outdoor areas where smoking and vaping are permitted.

Employees and visitors must use only those designated areas and must dispose of cigarette ends, vaping waste and any related litter responsibly.

The locations of any designated smoking or vaping areas will be communicated to employees and visitors as appropriate.

Breaks

Smoking and vaping breaks should be taken only during authorised breaks and in the designated area so far as applicable.

Smoking or vaping must not interfere with work, customer service, health and safety, food hygiene, or the work of colleagues.

Employees who smoke or vape must wash their hands and ensure they are fit to return to food handling duties before resuming work.

Vaping Devices

The use of electronic cigarettes and vaping devices, whether they contain nicotine or not, is subject to the same workplace restrictions under this policy as set out above.

Charging vaping devices on Company premises is not permitted unless expressly authorised.

Enforcement

All employees and visitors are expected to comply with this policy.

Breaches of this policy may result in disciplinary action under the Company’s disciplinary procedure. Visitors who do not comply may be asked to leave the premises.

Employees who observe breaches of this policy should report them to their line manager or another appropriate manager.

Support

Gelateria Danieli Ltd encourages employees who wish to stop smoking or vaping to seek assistance through available resources, such as stop smoking services, smoking cessation programmes, or other support services.

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains appropriate and consistent with business needs.
