Chocolate ice cream is a speciality of Italy, and there are two main types of the chocolate/hazelnut variety. Bacio, which is based on the little chocolate and hazelnut kisses called Baci, is chunkier with chopped hazelnuts. Gianduja gelato, a Piedmontese speciality, is a smoother blend of roasted hazelnuts and milk chocolate.
Our chocolate hazelnut ice cream is more like gianduja gelato with a scattering of hazelnut nibs for good measure.
